SILK PRESS GUIDE

Day 1 – Silk Press Appointment Salon Treatment:- Cleanse with Amika Reset Clarifying Gel Shampoo to remove buildup.- Strengthen with Olaplex No. 1 & No. 2 treatment or K18 Molecular Repair Mask.- Blowout using Kenra Blow-Dry Spray for thermal protection and frizz control.- Press with titanium flat irons using Kenra Smoothing Serum.- Finish with Amika Glass Action Universal Elixir for shine and humidity resistance.
Days 2–3 – Maintenance- Wrap hair nightly in a silk or satin scarf.- Sleep on a satin pillowcase.- Lightly brush and re-wrap in the morning.- Avoid water, steam, and sweat if possible.- Touch-up edges with Kenra Edge Control if needed.
Day 4 – Shine & Revive- Use Amika Top Gloss Hair Shine Spray to refresh shine.- Lightly touch up flat iron only if absolutely necessary on low heat.- Use Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo if scalp feels oily.
Day 5–6 – Low Manipulation- Keep hair wrapped when at home.- Avoid over-styling. Maintain a consistent part or light updo to reduce heat damage.
Day 7 – Midpoint Check- Scalp massage with a few drops of Kenra Nourishing Oil (avoid roots if too oily).- Refresh ends with Amika The Shield Anti-Humidity Spray.- Optional: Add light curls with a curling wand at a low temperature if style variation is desired. Day 8–10 – Scalp & Strand Refresh- If buildup occurs, apply Amika Dry Shampoo Foam to scalp and massage gently.- Light oil on ends using Kenra Revive Oil or Amika Glass Action.
Day 11–12 – Protective Styling- Begin transitioning to a protective style (bun, braid, scarf style).- Avoid additional heat.- Moisturize ends with K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask or light cream-based leave-in.
Day 13–14 – Pre-Wash Prep- Apply a pre-wash treatment (e.g., Olaplex No. 3 or Amika Flash Instant Shine Mask).- Gently detangle using a wide-tooth comb.
Day 14 – Wash Day- Shampoo with Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo or Amika Hydro Rush Shampoo.- Deep condition with Kenra Nourishing Masque.- Apply K18 Leave-In Repair Mask after towel drying.- Let curls air-dry or diffuse, then rebook silk press if desired.
